More Foods to Fight Off a Cold
Several readers have requested another blog post about foods to fight off a cold, and I'm happy to oblige! Here are a few more foods to eat if you think you may be coming down with a cold.
Edamame
When trying to fight off infections, it's very important to get plenty of protein. Edamame is a terrific source of it. It boasts an amazing 22 grams of protein per serving. It's great to add to salads or to eat as a snack.
Kiwi
Vitamin C is another nutrient famous for its cold fighting abilities, but kiwis aren't quite as famous for the incredible amount of vitamin C they contain. Just one kiwi can give you 100mg of it, plenty to help your body fight off infections.
Oranges
Just because kiwis contain more vitamin C then oranges doesn't mean you should neglect to eat oranges if you feel as though you're getting a cold. Oranges contain flavanoids that have been shown to increase immune system activity. Another great source of these flavanoids are grapefruit.
Kale
Dark, leafy green kale contains a substance called Glutathione. Glutathione is a very powerful antioxidant which can easily help your body to fight off cold causing effections. Brocolli is another good source of this nutrient.
Asparagus
Asparagus is a very good source of vitamin b12, which works very well in preventing infections. Asparagus contains many other nutrients as well, such as vitamin K, vitamin C, vitamin A, phosphorus, potassium and protein.

I left the Cold and Flu comment and then saw these posts in your sidebar.
I've been looking for good ways to serve Kale.. Sneaking it into anything of my kids that I get a chance.. They're not big fans but I have faith that I can out smart them :)
